Media Player Classic (MPC) is a compact media player for 32-bit and 64-bit Microsoft Windows. The application mimics the look and feel of the old, lightweight Windows Media Player 6.4 but integrates most options and features found in modern media players. It and its forks are standard media players in the K-Lite Codec Pack and the Combined Community Codec Pack. MPC Homecinema supports a wide range of decoding formats and file formats, following are the details:

Supported Decoding:
Media Player Classic is primarily based on the DirectShow architecture and therefore automatically uses installed DirectShow decoding filters. For instance, after the open source DirectShow decoding filter ffdshow has been installed, fast and high quality decoding and postprocessing of the MPEG-4 ASP, H.264, and Flash Video formats is available in MPC. MPC-HC can play videos in these formats directly without ffdshow.

MPC provides DXVA support for newer Intel, NVIDIA and ATI video cards when using an H.264 or VC-1 codec. This provides hardware-acceleration for playback.

Supported Video, Audio and Image File Formats:
Media Player Classic is capable of VCD, SVCD, and DVD playback without installation of additional software or codecs. MPC has built-in codecs for MPEG-2 video with support for subtitles and codecs for LPCM, MP2, 3GP, AC3, and DTS audio. MPC also contains an improved MPEG splitter that supports playback of VCDs and SVCDs using its VCD/SVCD/XCD Reader. On October 30, 2005, Gabest added *.mp4 and MPEG-4 Timed Text support.[1] An AAC decoding filter had once been present in MPC.

To make commercial Blu-ray movies playable with Media Player Classic Homecinema, Surely UFUSoft Blu-ray Player for Windows 8.1/8/7 is the first choice for playing Blu-ray Discs with, but there’re other ways to go with when building up a home theater system. Step 1. Load Blu-ray Disc or DVD to the Blu-Ray to Media Player Classic Ripper software.
Connect the external BD drive with your PC, and place the blu-ray disc in the blu-ray disc drive. Tips for ripping BD/ DVD movies to Media Player Classic:

Select desired subtitles and audio track: Click the drop-down list of “Subtitle”, then all the subtitle info in the Blu-ray will be displayed for you to select. To select your desired audio track, just click the pull down menu of “Audio”, and then the popup drop-down list will give you the detailed information of all audio tracks, including language, audio codec, and stream ID.

Join BD/ DVD chapters into one: If you would like to rip the whole movie into one file, select all the Titles and click Merge.
